Nervous System Sweet Talk: The Language of Belonging

Listen Here

Welcome to Treehouse Treasures. I am so happy you are here!

What if caring for the nervous system begins with the way we speak to ourselves and others?  The language we use matters!

Words literally matter!

For the past year or so I've been researching neuroscience, neuromodulation and the nervous system. In fact, I am attempting to write a short little book called, 1 Degree Up. So today's episode is a taste of this: Sweet talk for our Nervous system.

Carefully selecting the words we speak or write and finding creative ways of saying things that might be on the south side of pleasant or beneficial. I look at it now like a game... it's truly fun for me to see how often I can remember to use affirmative language. I want to dance and sing with life and be the peace I want to see in the world.

There are little things, tiny acts of care, we can weave into our day.

We can bring our attention toward what nourishes us.

The smile of a child.

Warm cup of coffee or tea in the early morning.

A beloved pet greeting us, wagging their tail with great anticipation

The comfort of a grandparent, mentor, or dear friend.

A hummingbird hovering in morning light.

The view of a vast expansive sky.

The feeling...

The remembering...

That we belong to something alive and beautiful.

These experiences speak a language the nervous system understands.

A language of belonging.

A language of connection.

A language of love.

In this episode, Nervous System Sweet Talk, I invite you to spend a few moments remembering what nourishes your heart and supports your wellbeing.

Perhaps after listening, you'll take a moment to look into your own eyes

Noticing and cherishing the goodness that lives within you.

And perhaps together we can continue creating a world where our words support peace, connection, appreciation, and joy.

With Love,

May All Beings Be Free -- Be Loved -- And Be Adored!

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti
